This tour from Munich will take you to these two extraordinary castles, allowing you to experience Bavaria's grandeur and picturesque mountain scenery in one magical day. The tour begins with a visit to Linderhof Palace, where you will discover the secrets of King Ludwig II's hidden life. After exploring the opulent palace, a scenic drive takes you through Oberammergau without stop (Classic & VIP Tour Option only). You then arrive at Hohenschwangau, where King Ludwig ll spend most of his childhood. Our final stop is Neuschwanstein Castle. Here you can admire one of Germany's most emblematic and impressive monuments.

Departing from Karlplatz 21 /Stachus at 08:30AM. Your first stop will be the stunning Linderhof Palace (UNESCO World Heritage since 2025) , arriving around 10:00 AM (not part of the late departure edition tour). The smallest of King Ludwig II's three royal castles, Linderhof was originally built as a hunting lodge in the 19th century. Designed in the elegant French Rococo style, the castle features a Moorish pavilion, which you can explore during your one-hour stay.

You’ll also have the option to join a guided tour of the castle’s exquisite interior, where you’ll experience the luxurious chambers and intricate design of the palace. The guided tour lasts about 25 minutes.
After the tour, take time to enjoy the impressive castle gardens. Stroll through the beautiful grounds and capture stunning photos of the castle and its surroundings.
A picturesque bus ride without stop through the quaint alpine village of Oberammergau unfolds like a dream. With every turn, the journey resembles a living postcard, peaceful and serene at every glance.
Enjoy this beautiful viewpoint, located within walking distance of the castle. Please be mindful of the castle’s admission times (visits are optional, and schedules may change).

During winter, access to the Marienbrücke Bridge depends on weather conditions and decisions made by the castle administration.
Approx. 1:15PM: Arrival at the Neuschwanstein Castle area. Begin your discovery of Ludwig II's childhood home, Hohenschwangau Castle.
Entrance tickets will be provided by the guide.
Total stay in the area: approximately 3 – 3.5 hours.

During your time here, you'll have free time for lunch, shopping, or taking pictures. You can also take 35 minutes to reach Neuschwanstein Castle either on foot or by shuttle bus (please note, the shuttle bus is not operational in snowy conditions). Be sure to visit Marienbrücke (Mary's Bridge) for sweeping views of the castle and the surrounding landscape.
Around 3:45PM: A guided tour of Neuschwanstein Castle will take approximately 45 minutes.
5:00PM: Departure from Neuschwanstein Castle, with an approximate 2-hour ride back to Munich.
